Schools are about relationships and those are based on trust, respect and effective communication. School staff are absolute superheroes but even they can use a helping hand sometimes.
With severe budget cuts, translation (written documents) and interpretation (spoken word) can be seen as an unnecessary expense. But good relationships require an investment in communication.
But why not just ask your Polish TA, children or parents to interpret? Why pay for something that’s free?

I offer professional Polish-English translation and interpretation services and solid experience of supporting schools, parents and EAL students. As an English teacher, a QTS holder and a former Bilingual Outreach Assistant, I speak the language of education.

Do you require documents and resources or interpretation and contact with parents?
I offer two pricing schemes depending on your needs.
This is where I come in.
A: Pay as you go.
I use a set rate for a minimum of an hour of interpretation (face to face or remote). I can assist you during a friendly catch up call, a TAF meeting, a SEND review or an EHCP application – even a school trip!
For translation I use word count (the number of words in a document). Nothing is too small or too big - from school trip letters to end of the year reports.
B: Package deals
A mix of purchased interpreting hours and translation for whenever you need specific support.
Just contact me with your needs and we will create a custom package for you.
I will keep track of what you use and alert you when your package is about to be used up.
